Well hey, y'all! I'm Marye and I'm so glad you're here. If you need to contact me you can email me at [email protected]
You might know me from my other blog, Restless Chipotle. Here on Breadcrumbs in the Butter I am focusing on one of my favorite things to make - homemade bread.

Whether you're just starting out and about to bake your very first loaf of yeast bread, or you've been around the block a few times and are looking for a new bread recipe to try you'll find step by step images, easy instructions and video here.
I've been making bread since 1974 and let me tell you - I've done about everything...twice.
If this is our first meeting, and you want to know a little about me, read on...
I taught myself to bake bread when I was 14 thanks to a recipe in the back of Seventeen Magazine. I have no idea what they put in teen magazines now but back then it was makeup, clothes, and recipes.
I was hooked from the first minute I got my hands in the dough and I haven't looked back.
When you know how to bake bread you gain a certain confidence; a feeling that you really "have got this" and that as long as you can find some flour, yeast, and water you can provide food for your family.
During COVID so many people were unable to find bread of any kind - and even yeast and flour became kind of scarce.
A lot of people had never worked with yeast and were intimidated by it.
I realized it was time to create a blog that was just bread and focus on making sure that the instructions were simple, the recipes were delicious, and the experience was cozy.
Hopefully Breadcrumbs in the Butter (BIB) will become exactly that.
I've been a food writer since 2005, and went full time in 2016. I've written several cookbooks, both in my name and ghost written for others, and I've written for magazines like Texas Living, Dallas Child, and more.
I've raised 8 amazing kids, homeschooled for over 22 years, and I can teach anyone anything.
I am so glad you're here!
